Why are you doing this?
We have incredibly talented and skilled people living right in our own neighbourhood. How amazing for kids (and grown-ups) to meet and learn from them! Then to see each other around the neighbourhood afterwards and know each other by name. It’s why we’re here.
We want kids to see “the arts” as a profession. There are men and women who use their creative skills and passions to make a living wage. Art isn’t just a hobby or nice thing to do. It brings the world comfort, joy, and so much more (like the books we love to read, the shows we love to watch, the music… all because of professions in the arts)
This could also be an incredible experience for the teachers out there. A fun experience to do alongside your kiddo + then to have something new to bring back to your classroom using simple materials. We love the idea of hundreds of kids feeling inspired by the world of puppetry.
